Lady Gaga is stepping even further into the acting world by taking on the headlining role in the upcoming remake of A Star Is Born, which Bradley Cooper is directing. Of course, Gaga won’t just be adding her acting chops to the reboot, she will also be writing and performing original songs for it, according to the Wrap.

“The world is in for a treat as these great artists craft an all-new vision of A Star Is Born," Warner Bros. Pictures president of creative worldwide production Greg Silverman told the Wrap.

This news comes following reports that Gaga was simply “in talks” for the movie, which is the story of an aspiring actress who finds it hard to win fame and love at the same time. Gaga is stepping into some legendary shoes with this role. In the previous 1976 remake of the film, Barbra Streisand played the lead, while in the 1954 version, Judy Garland was the leading lady.
