It's easy to run around, thrashing your limbs to Metallica's new song "Hardwired," so much so that when the band was laying down the swift-paced track in the studio, it song almost ran away from them.

In a new behind-the-scenes video, fans can watch the recording session as they admit they get a little too fast on the in-your-face jam. The clip also shows them laying down individual tracks and explaining the lyrics.

"Somebody said to me the other day, and it stuck with me: 'hardwired to self-destruct,'" James Hetfield says on camera. "So, it's like, no matter what you do in your life, you're really trying to not got down that path you're maybe hardwired to do."

Lars Ulrich and Hetfield are seen doing most of the creating, but the masters Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo lay down the most vicious layers on bass and guitar, too.
