It's an unlikely match-up, but last night on the Season 11 premiere of The VoiceBlake SheltonMiley CyrusAlicia Keys and Adam Levine came together for one performance.

The new coaches joined the stage together for Aerosmith's "Dream On," a grungy, guitar-driven cover that had Keys at the piano and Miley emerging to fire and smoke. Levine nailed the high notes just like Steven Tyler would do.

After the performance, the screen went black, unveiling the message, "In loving memory of our friend Christina Grimmie." Grimmie, who was killed at a concert in Orlando in June, was a contestant on Season 6 of The Voice in 2014, finishing in third place. "Dream On," somewhat appropriate for this moment, faces our mortality and is about living in the moment:

"Sing with me, sing for the years / Sing for the laughter, sing for the tears / Sing with me, just for today / Maybe tomorrow, the good Lord will take you away."
