Last year may have been complicated for Nick Jonas, but the pop singer had a simple goal at the 2016 MTV VMAs: absolutely dazzle his audience both indoors and outdoors. With the help of Ty Dolla $ign, Jonas brought his latest single, “Bacon,” to the Video Music Awards, and equated love to a crispy treat outside of New York’s Madison Square Garden.

Jonas kicked off the performance with a full plate of bacon in hand... which makes more sense when you realize that he was at the famous Tick Tock Diner in New York. After stopping by his bro Joe Jonas' table (hey, DNCE!), Jonas headed outside to hang with Ty Dolla, and ended the performance on top of a fire truck.

Jonas’ VMAs takeover comes three months after the singer performed “Close,” alongside Tove Lo, at the 2016 Billboard Music Awards. Both “Close” and “Bacon” come from Jonas' Last Year Was Complicated album, released in June.

Meanwhile, Ty Dolla $ign scored a VMA nod for “Work From Home,” his collaboration with Fifth HarmonyClick here to read the rapper’s thoughts on working with 5H.
