On Sunday, Selena Gomez criticized Justin Bieber on Instagram after the Biebs threatened to turn his Instagram account private, in a move that would have sent shockwaves across the the Belieber universe.

Bieber posted a few photos of himself with rumored girlfriend Sofia Richie on IG earlier on Sunday, and then lashed out at fans who were being critical of the coupling. “I’m gonna make my Instagram private if you guys don’t stop the hate this is getting out of hand, if you guys are really fans you wouldn’t be so mean to people that I like,” he wrote in an Instagram caption.

Social media sleuths spotted Gomez subsequently calling out Bieber for the caption in a delicious Instagram comment:

“If you can’t handle the hate then stop posting pictures of your girlfriend,” Gomez reportedly wrote. “Don’t be mad at your fans. They love you.”

And then, Bieber replied to Gomez’s comment:

“It’s funny to see people that used me for attention and still try to point the finger this way. Sad. All love,” Bieber spat back. But it was too late: #SelenaEndingJustinParty started trending worldwide, and still is, as of press time.
