Gotham, against all odds, really works as a TV show. Fox's pre-Batman series has big, movie tie-in plans for Season 3, too, as folks learned from executive producer John Stephens revealed during the latest Television Critics Association press tour:
“We will be seeing proto-versions of some of [the Suicide Squad] characters; we’ll see a proto–Killer Croc version. And we’ll be seeing a character—perhaps not this season, but in times to come—who can be a forerunner for Harley Quinn, which I think will be really exciting as well."
It makes sense for DC to capitalize on its newly (re-)spotlighted villains; Suicide Squad just decimated the record for the biggest-ever August box office weekend with $135.1 million in the U.S. alone. ($276.1 million worldwide, if you're wondering.)
