The Monolith, the popular graphic novel series from Justin Gray and Jimmy Palmiotti, is getting the feature film treatment.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lionsgate is developing an adaptation of the series, which focuses on a magical creature discovered in a Brooklyn home by ex-junkie heroine Alice Cohen. Gray and Palmiotti published 12 issues of The Monolith in 2004 and 2005.
In the director’s chair is Dave Wilson, the creative director of Deadpool director Tim Miller’s production company, Blur Studio. Barnett Brettler is attached to write the script; this will be the first major film project for both Wilson and Brettler.
