Prior to her tragic passing, Christina Grimmie was ready to show that she was a talented actress as well as singer. Now, we will get to see her posthumous movie debut when The Matchbreaker arrives next month.

Directed by Caleb Vetter (Pawn's Move), the indie romantic comedy follows Ethan Cooper (played by Wesley Elder), whose mom forces him to break up a girl's relationship. The one-time gig quickly turns into a full-fledged profession, and Ethan soon finds himself falling for his client Emily Atkins (Grimmie).

For those who are big fans of the singer, the movie will also feature original music from her and YouTube vlogger Tessa Violet. Look out for The Matchbreaker in select theaters on Oct. 7, with a digital release to follow in December. The film comes after Grimmie's four-part posthumous music video series The Ballad of Jessica Blue that concluded earlier this month.
