Homeland is gearing up for its sixth season of international action and Claire Danes being upset but brilliant. But one of its creators, Alex Gansa, is already eyeing an end date…and it’s probably coming in 2019.

At Showtime’s pre-Emmys party, Gansa told Deadline that Homeland would likely be “done” after Season 8, “if I’m still standing.” The drama was recently renewed for two more seasons following the upcoming Season 6, which was filmed in South Africa and Germany.

Homeland debuted in 2011 and won Emmys for Danes and Damian Lewis (who is no longer on the show), as well as Outstanding Drama Series in 2012. Gansa admitted that wrapping the series is ultimately Showtime’s decision.
