Deathstroke will be a focal point in DC’s upcoming film franchises, with an appearance as the main villain in the next Batman movie confirmed and a part in next year’s Justice League film rumored. Now, the actor behind the mask has been revealed: Joe Manganiello, best known for his stints on True Blood and in the Magic Mike franchise.

DC president and chief creative officer Geoff Johns confirmed the news to The Wall Street Journal, although he declined to clarify if Deathstroke will appear in Justice League, out November 2017. There’s no release date yet for the next standalone Batman flick, which will star and be directed by Ben Affleck.

Last week, Affleck posted a video online featuring Deathstroke, but didn’t reveal the actor playing the famous Batman baddie.

Deathstroke has been played by Manu Bennett on the DC show Arrow. Stephen Amell, the star of Arrowrecently hinted that Bennett could return to the series as the villain, despite DC’s reluctance to have film characters cross over into its TV properties.
