Civil War II, the comic book sequel to the story that spawned Marvel's Captain America: Civil War movie, is coming to an end—but not as soon as we thought. First, writer Brian Michael Bendis announced that Civil War II #7 would no longer conclude the story, with an eighth issue being added. (And, at the same time, addressed a delay for #5.)

But now #8 has been pushed from Nov. 2 to Dec. 28. Oof.

Civil War II crosses over with comics starring Spider-Man, Iron Man and the new Iron Man, the X-Men, Ms. Marvel, Ant-Man, Deadpool, the Hulk and basically everyone ever. It began in June 2016. Of the choice to extend the run, Bendis Tumbl'd in August:

“[Artist] David [Marquez] has been handing in about a page a day for the last couple of weeks so we’re getting back on track. So much so that Marvel greenlit an 8th issue for us. I came up with a better ending but needed the pages. Very grateful that they let us do our thing.”
