Regina Spektor is set to release Remember Us to Life later this month, and on Thursday we got a new offering from her seventh studio album.
"Black and White" is a sweet and simple ballad, turning from the signature quirky-yet-dark tone she takes on the previously heard "Small Bill$."
“Sad, sad eyes / Know too much,” she sings somberly on the piano ballad. “You will always / Start to cry / Why should I wait for tomorrow?” The tempo is slower than sap and a cello takes over half way through, all the while Spektor working introspectively, as if singing a lullaby to her former self.
