Raise your hand if you thought that the Shanghai Noon story was incomplete and needed to become a trilogy. You might not have raised your hand! Nevertheless, a trilogy it shall become, as stars Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson have reportedly re-upped for a third film in the action-comedy franchise.
According to Deadline, Jared Hess (Napoleon Dynamite, Nacho Libre) will direct the follow-up to 2003’s Shanghai Knights. Shanghai Noon grossed a little shy of $100 million worldwide upon its 2000 release.
Chan recently starred in the action comedy Skiptrace with Johnny Knoxville. He’ll also serve as a voice actor in the upcoming LEGO Ninjago Movie, following his work in the Kung Fu Panda franchise.
