After years and years of teasing, the long-awaited Playstation game The Last Guardian has become nearly mystical in its series of delays. A Oct. 25, 2016 was finally announced and confirmed for the project, but Playstation has announced its release date has been pushed back again.
On the official Playstation blog, Sony Interactive Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida revealed that the company has made the "tough decision" to delay The Last Guardian to Dec. 6, 2016. According to the post, developers encountered "more bugs than anticipated while in the final stages of development" and the bump is to ensure "the most polished experience possible."
Gamers know that The Last Guardian was initially announced in 2008 as a Playstation 3 project. Due to its multiple setbacks, the game now is destined for Playstation 4.
When The Last Guardian finally does drop, it should be worth the wait as one becomes an adolescent who befriends and gains the trust of a giant half-bird/half-mammal creature. When/if it's released, it could be a major game-changer and an experience that teaches empathy along with providing entertainment.
