Adele has never been one to sugarcoat her thoughts, which is why we love her so much! The singer is the cover star of Vanity Fair's December issue, and she makes it clear that she's not here for your female stereotypes.
The 25 star tells the interviewer that she shaved her legs after a month because she thought her concertgoers in the front row might notice them. But when asked if boyfriend Simon Konecki minded the hairiness, Adele gave this incredible response: "He has no choice. I’ll have no man telling me to shave my fuckin’ legs. Shave yours.”
Adele also reveals her challenge with postpartum depression after giving birth to son Angelo:
"The music I’ve always been drawn to is sad. I’ve always been pretty melancholy. Obviously not as much in my real life as the songs are, but I have a very dark side. I’m very available to depression. I can slip in and out of it quite easily. It started when my granddad died, when I was about 10, and while I never had a suicidal thought, I have been in therapy, lots. But, I haven’t had that feeling since I had my son and snapped out of my postpartum depression.”
She continues to speak about all those boys she wrote songs about, explaining there is no bad blood. "There’s a reason I loved them once and for a while hate got in the way. But I’m an adult now, I’m a mother, and I’m a lot less bitchy," Adele tells VF. "They were interesting people, and while we’re not friends and I don’t see them regularly, I have seen them and it’s all fine.”
Beyoncé also jumps in the interview to speak on her friend, saying "She creates songs that go deep and expose pain and vulnerability with her soulful voice":
“It is so easy to talk to her and be around her. She’s funny as hell and her comebacks are legendary. The most beautiful thing about Adele is that she has her priorities straight. She is a gracious woman and the most humble human being I’ve ever met.”
