The 44th annual American Music Awards will feature two big performers this year as Green Day and Twenty One Pilots have joined the lineup. The latter are hitting the show's stage for the first time ever.

The previously announced performers for the Nov. 20 live AMAs broadcast are Lady GagaBruno Mars and Sting, who's getting the American Music Award of Merit.

The AMA nominees arrived earlier this month, with Drake's 13 nods passing the 32-year-old record set by the 11 Michael Jackson nabbed in 1984. Twenty One Pilots are one of the 10 acts up for Artist of the Year. In Favorite Duo or Group – Pop/Rock, they'll only compete with DNCE and The Chainsmokers. As for Favorite Artist - Alternative Rock, the competitors are Coldplay and X Ambassadors.

Green Day recently got their third No. 1 album with Revolution Radio. In 2017 they'll rock an arena tour with Against Me!

Twenty One Pilots, meanwhile, were recently identified as potential vampires by Fuse.tv. Watch the dudes chat with Fuse back in 2013:
