Fox Searchlight finally released the first trailer for Jackie, the upcoming movie starring Natalie Portman as Jackie Kennedy Onassis. The teaser for the film, which received rave reviews at Cannes earlier this year and got some love in our fall movie preview, could score yet another Oscar for the actress.

Portman transforms into Jackie O. before our eyes, as she masters her beautiful and breathy Long Island accent. She also captures the the former First Lady's elegance with 1960s-inspired outfits. But what really draws you in is the trauma shown throughout the trailer, as the tearful actress washes away husband John F. Kennedy's blood off her body. She tries to remain poised while attending the funeral of the president, who was assasinated in 1963.

Jackie, which focuses on Jackie O. during the days after the assassination, is helmed by Chilean director Pablo Larrain. Along with Portman, the cast includes Caspar Phillipson as John F. Kennedy, Billy Crudup (Theodore H. White), Greta Gerwig (Nancy Tuckerman), and Peter Sarsgaard (Robert F. Kennedy).

The movie will show in select theaters on Dec. 2.
