Lady Gaga kicked off the intimate dive bar tour for her Joanne album in Nashville on Wednesday, debuting three new songs live and performing the single "Perfect Illusion." The mini-concert was available as a Facebook livestream that you can watch above.
Based on the lyrics, one can conclude the singer premiered the Father John Misty–featuring "Sinner's Prayer" (seen at 28:30), the rock-leaning "A-Yo" (32:45) and "Million Reasons" (39:15), an emotional country ballad with Nashville songwriter Hillary Lindsey. In between songs, Gaga requested (in a southern drawl) that the audience call her Joanne for the night. They were happy to comply, with many yelling, "I love you, Joanne!"
Gaga closed the showcase by performing new single "Perfect Illusion," where she ran into the crowd multiple times and at one point appeared to try to crowdsurf. It's becoming clearer that Joanne is a departure from Gaga's past records, designed for a more intimate show.
"We can't give away too much," she told the audience at the end of her "Perfect Illusion" performance. "So I'll see you at the next stop, yeah?" With 15 days to go until the next concert, you bet she'll see us there (or at least watching the stream).
