Imagine casually walking into a synth store looking to buy some modular synthesizers. You then turn around to find yourself staring in the face of Radiohead. Well according to Reddit user LetTheDeeShaw, this surreal experience happened to him when he met band members Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood!

LetTheDeeShaw (who is a huge fan of the U.K. rockers) detailed the chance encounter on Radiohead’s sub-reddit, saying he and his fiancé drove 10 hours to see them headline at Austin City Limits over the weekend. He then met Yorke and Greenwood in synth shop Switched On.

After the initial shock faded, LetTheDeeShaw began speaking to Yorke:

“We talked and patched for about an hour, joking about how esoteric and complicated some synth modules are. He was super interested in the Mutable Instruments Braids. I showed him a couple of my favorites and he said, ‘See, anything with a grid like that immediately gives me a headache. I’m just a singer, so I can do vocal effects and oscillators, but some of this is too much.'”

The story includes fun highlights like actually jamming with the band and buying modules that Yorke left behind. Read the surreal experience over at Consequence of Sound. And below, watch We Are Augustines recall a surreal moment when they partied with Radiohead until the wee hours of the morning:
