With a boy band past and an even bigger post-band career, Robbie Williams is like the Justin Timberlake of the U.K. and remains one of the biggest pop acts who hasn't cracked America. So, maybe it wasn't totally unbelievable when the "These Days" singer said he had bedded nearly all of the Spice Girls.

Talking to Australian radio station Nova 96.9, Williams denied the claim once and for all, citing it was a joke:

"On one particular tour, before [singing Take That's 1995 single 'Back for Good'], I introduced it by saying, 'I am very fortunate to have been in Take That and four out of five of the Spice Girls.' That was my intro to the song and it was a joke, and the joke went too far."

Williams went a step further, adding, "I would like to apologize to all the Spice Girls involved and their husbands and boyfriends. I know a few husbands and boyfriends weren't too happy with the joke." Seems like Robbie has grown into a stand-up bloke.

Williams was reported to have dated Geri Halliwell (a.k.a. Ginger Spice) in the past.

In other news, Williams is gaering up to release a new album titled The Heavy Entertainment Show on Nov. 4. It will feature co-writing collaborations with The Killers' Brandon Flowers, Ed Sheeran and Guy Chambers.
