Marvel fans that have been keeping track know that we've met Black Panther (a.k.a. T'Challa, played by Chadwick Boseman) and his father T'Chaka (played by John Kani) thanks to Captain America: Civil War. But no mother figure...until now.  

On Nov. 21, Marvel announced the family's matriarch will be played by Angela Bassett in the upcoming Black Panther flick. The American Horror Story star is set to play Ramonda, who Marvel describes as "mother of T’Challa, a.k.a. Black Panther."

Recently, the Academy Award nominee has earned loads of praise for her badass characters on AHS making her casting one of the coolest to come to the Marvel universe. Michael B. Jordan and Lupita Nyong'o are also onboard for the upcoming superhero flick.
