Following the sad news that the wildly popular K-pop group 2NE1 have officially parted ways (read our tribute here), members CL and Dara shared heartfelt notes with their fans on social media. In her message to the Blackjacks fandom, the Baddest Female revealed she put her solo U.S. career on pause to finish a 2NE1 album. But unfortunately the project never came to fruition. She writes:

"Minzy, Bom, Dara will all be doing great things on their own and I will always love and support them. And I hope you all know, YG, the members & I, we all really tried to make things work. I left everything behind and was in Korea all summer working on our album, but it fell apart...tough times..."

CL's announcement follows Dara's handwritten note in Korean, captioned in English. "The announcement last friday was very painful to ALL of us," she wrote. "But the past 7 years has been filled with good and wonderful memories I will treasure forever." Record label YG Entertainment's decision to disband 2NE1 comes after Minzy's departure in May.

CL is currently prepping her solo career with manager Scooter Braun. She released her debut single "Lifted" in August and kicked off the Hello Bi+ches Tour on Oct. 29 at NYC's Hammerstein Ballroom. Click here to read our concert review.
