Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to watch Mission: Impossible 6 on/in the vicinity of July 27, 2018. Paramount revealed the six-quel's official release date on Tuesday night.

Director/writer/multi-time Tom Cruise collaborator Christopher McQuarrie (Edge of Tomorrow, Jack Reacher) wrote and helmed the last one, Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation, and will take both duties again this time.

Tom Cruise signed on for Mission: Impossible 6 back in September. He pioneered the 1960s/70s TV show's cinematic adaptation in 1996, both starring and taking his first producer credit. It marked a turning point in his then already-15-year-old career: Cruise has produced every M:I installment since (in 2000, '06, '11 and '15), and a dozen other films along the way.
