The Weeknd's a motherfussin' star, boy. Thanks to his new album, the Canadian singer beat his fellow Canadian singer Justin Bieber's record for single-day Spotify streams. Back on Nov. 13, 2015—the day Purpose dropped—the Biebs scored 36 million spins.

The Weeknd's actual number isn't available yet, although Spotify says the record was broken on Friday, Nov. 25, the day he dropped Starboy, his third studio album. The LP features Daft PunkFutureLana Del Rey and Kendrick Lamar. All 18 tracks are in Spotify's Global Top 50, with three in the top five and five in the top 20.

Troy Carter, Spotify's global head of creator services, said, "We're proud to have partnered with The Weeknd, his management and Republic Records on a phenomenal album. We look forward to breaking even more records together in the near future." Republic chairman/co-founder Monte Lipman said, “Spotify’s continued support of The Weeknd has now reached historic proportions and also reinforces the tremendous growth of global streaming."
