Early Friday morning, Fifth Harmony announced that Camila Cabello had "quit" the group. The statement, released on their social media accounts, was somewhat of a surprise, but not unexpected. The members of the girl group, formed on X Factor in 2012, have been working on solo projects, like Normani Kordei's Drake remix and Lauren Jauregui's song with Marian Hill.
Nevertheless, fans had to deal with the news first thing in the morning, and here's how it went down. Click through for their reactions:
Let's be real we all knew camila would be the first to leave fifth harmony— zoe rivas (@jakefitzx) December 19, 2016
the first time that camila made a song with shawn y'all knew this would've happen bc she was starting to love being a solo artist #H4RMONY— sana (@killerofswift) December 19, 2016
And they started the new hashtag, #H4RMONY. Fifth Harmony was named for having five members, so it might be cool to rebrand now, right?
stop comparing zayn and camila on them leaving, Zayn left for personal health reasons and his happiness.— THANK YOU ZAYN (@royaltyzjm) December 19, 2016
When you see a member of a band leaving, it's easy to pull from the past to predict what will happen. However, the situations aren't the same.
Is Camila going to shave her head like Zayn, Nick Jonas and Justin Timberlake after leaving their band?— MORZ¥ (@benzodope) December 19, 2016
After all, history repeats itself.
CAMILA ACTUALLY LEFT 5H LMFAOO IM GLAD I STAN LITTLE MIX WHO LITERALLY ARE EACH OTHERS BEST FRIENDS— Ariana Grande (@CottonCandyagb) December 19, 2016
Both Little Mix and Fifth Harmony have been compared to each other their entire careers, so why would it differ now? For those who chose one girl group or the other, Little Mix fans are feeling pretty grateful right now.
5h3 the album that fifth harmony are still gonna drop without camila, with equal line contribution and exceptional choreography. #H4RMONY— Lauren Jauregui UK (@LaurenMJUK) December 19, 2016
Cabello's involvement in Fifth Harmony's possible third album was always in question, but fans have faith that the album will be even better.
