Travel back in time in Jaden Smith's new video for "Fallen," which his close friend Kid Cudi premiered on Sunday night. The entrancing visual, co-directed by the artist and Miles Cable, is set in Calabasas, Calif. But instead of taking on the modern-day Kardashian homeland, Smith instead goes back to an old Western 1867.

The video features beautiful overshot scenes of mountain ranges and cotton candy–colored sunsets, juxtaposed against Smith's constant throwing up of an unusual substance. While coyly singing and rapping about reading bell hooks and musing, “Baby you are so unusual like cutting cuticles," he also pays homage to Cudi's 2009 debut Man on the Moon: The End of Day. Look out for its artwork display atop a hill toward the end.

"Fallen" is the first taste from Jaden Smith's upcoming Syre project. He recently jammed out with his sister Willow in Kid Cudi's psychedelic video for "Surfin'." Next up, listen to the Back of the Class podcast guys discuss Cudi sharing his mental health obstacles with fans:
