Sevyn Streeter has professed her admiration of Aaliyah for years, and now she's embracing the late singer's effortless sound on new track "Before I Do." Sevyn muses about wanting to take a relationship to the next level, only as long as her man is willing to be vulnerable like her.

"I wanna let go / But don’t really know / I heard you got a girlfriend / Saying ain’t so / If you ain’t on the low / I don’t think I can handle it," Sevyn sings in a breathy cadence similar to Aaliyah's signature tone. The airy strums of the acoustic guitar and romantic harmonies elevates the song, drifting you to a time of blissful late-night phone conversations and sipping lemonade in the park with a high school crush.

"Before I Do" follows previous singles “Prolly” with Gucci Mane and “D4L.” Look out for Sevyn Streeter's Girl Disrupted album when it drops in early 2017. The singer will be kicking off a U.S. tour beginning Jan. 12 in St. Louis, MO.
