President Barack Obama gave his farewell address in his hometown of Chicago last night, which made his last few days in the White House all the more real. His speech was a tearful but motivating one, as Obama choked up while applauding his wife and First Lady Michelle Obama and reminded the country that we still have to fight for racial equality.
“If we’re going to be serious about race going forward, we must uphold laws against discrimination – in hiring, in housing, in education and the criminal justice system," Obama said. "That’s what our Constitution and highest ideals require. But laws alone won’t be enough. Hearts must change."
