Dashboard Confessional surprised fans last night by releasing a new EP titled Covered + Taped out of nowhere. It features the band cover tunes from artists like Justin Bieber (“Love Yourself”), The 1975 (“Sex”), Julien Baker (“Sprained Ankle”) and Sorority Noise (“Using”). Stream it on Spotify now:

“I love covering great songs by great artists,” frontman Chris Carrabba said in a press release. “These are some songs I feel very connected to right now. Enough so that I felt I had a way of making them my own in some small way.”

The surprise project comes after the band's tour dates announcement last month. The U.S. trek began on Jan. 17 in Buffalo, N.Y. and wraps up in Charlotte, N.C., on Feb. 17. Hopefully you snagged tickets already, because more than half of the dates are sold out.
