Were you wondering if James McAvoy's Professor X would be back in The New Mutants movie? Well, now, your ponderings can be quelled. In an interview with ComingSoon.net, co-star Anya Taylor-Joy pretty much confirmed that the dude will return.
That's right: 20th Century Fox's latest comic adaptation hasn't spurned too much news ever since it was announced, but on Thursday, the site took that lil' donut hole of casting gossip and ran with it. When they asked her if she would reunite with her Split co-star, Taylor-Joy coyly responded: “I mean, I think James is already a part of it, isn’t he?”
The New Mutants movie, directed by Josh Boone, will follow a bunch of, uh, you guessed it, mutants as they train to SAVE THE WORLD in the Marvel Universe. Good luck to them.
Set for release in spring 2018, the movie is rumored to take place around the same era as X-Men: Apocalypse. ComingSoon.net also predicts the casting of Maisie Williams (Game of Thrones) as Wolfsbane, Taylor-Joy (The Witch) as Magik, and Nat Wolff (The Fault in Our Stars) as Cannonball.
