UPDATE (2:45PM): Mary Tyler Moore has sadly passed away according to her publicist, Associated Press announced. She was 80.

Original Story: Mary Tyler Moore is currently in a Connecticut hospital under grave condition, TMZ reports. The iconic, 80-year-old actress has allegedly been on a respirator for over a week and sources claim her family members are arriving at the hospital to say their goodbyes.

Moore was first diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in 1966 and has battled the disease since then. The television star previously underwent brain surgery in 2011 to remove a benign tumor. The Brooklyn native first warmed our hearts as Westchester homemaker Laura Petrie in CBS' The Dick Van Dyke Show, which ran from 1961–1966. She later starred in the classic sitcom The Mary Tyler Moore Show from 1970–1977.

The actress won two Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe Award for The Dick Van Dyke Show and later earned eight Emmy nominations and four wins for The Mary Tyler Moore Show.
