What's better than some new Missy Elliott music to jumpstart your weekend? The hip-hop icon surprise-debuted the video for fresh song "I'm Better" last night, which finds her in her colorful artistic element. Missy co-directed the clip with longtime collaborator Deve Meyers that features a verse from Lamb.

"I'm Better" is a slick, laidback tune that is dotted with sharp electronic notes, Autotune and a heavy bass. Watch above as Missy shows off her on-point choreography and vibrant outfits. It marks the first taste of new music from the artist since last February's "Pep Rally," which was released before the Super Bowl.

If that wasn't enough, Missy also dropped a teaser from her upcoming documentary. “It’s never just a record for me,” the artist proudly states. “It’s never just making a hot record. I can do that in my sleep. But visually I have to see what I’m going to do with that record when I perform it.” There are also cameos from industry friends like Busta Rhymes and Pharrell.

There's still no word on if she plans to release the follow-up album to 2005's The Cookbook sometime this year. But while we wait, watch Tweet discuss her longtime friendship with Missy Elliott below:
