Steve Aoki and Louis Tomlinson made their late-night U.S. debut on Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last night, where they performed their party-ready tune "Just Hold On." The One Direction star showed off his soaring vocals while Aoki provided the electronic melody.
The pop/EDM track marked the first collaboration between the two music pals, and was released back in December. Since then, it became Aoki's highest-charting tune when it peaked at No. 52 on the Billboard Hot 100. "Just Hold On" is Tomlinson's debut solo effort since 1D announced their indefinite hiatus in Aug. 2015.
The track came a few days after the tragic death of the singer's mother, Johannah Deakin, who passed away on Dec. 7 at age 43 after battling leukemia. After the performance, Tomlinson hopped on Twitter to thank his fans:
Reading through so many lovely messages after tonight's performance . Thank you so much :) 😝— Louis Tomlinson (@Louis_Tomlinson) January 25, 2017
