Update (2/10): Will Smith has exited talks for Disney's live-action Dumbo remake. The studio continues to move aggressively toward a production start

Original story (1/11): While we've never imagined him as a baby elephant, reports indicate that Disney is eyeing Will Smith to star in its upcoming live-action adaptation of its lovable tale about the elephant with humongous ears, Dumbo.

Deadline reports that the studio is "moving aggressively" to get Smith on board for the Tim Burton–directed flick that will reimagine the classic 1941 movie. No word on whether he'll play a human character or voice one of the animals, though.

Big Willie would be in good company when it comes to A-listers who have jumped on the Disney-remake wagon. Recently, we've seen Angelina Jolie in Maleficent, Johnny Depp in Alice, along with upcoming roles from Emma Stone as Cruella De Ville.
