On April 21, after almost six years away, Incubus will be back with 8, their newly announced eighth (you guessed it, didn't you?) album. Accompanying the announcement is "Nimble Bastard," the primo-grade rock 'n' roll track serving as single No. 1.

Listen to Incubus' "Nimble Bastard" below; the band's classic vibes are very much intact:

Incubus debuted in 1995 with Fungus Amongus. They've slowed the album pace the last two times around, dropping Light Grenades in November 2006 and, after a brief hiatus, If Not Now, When? in July 2011. Of the band's last four records, all hit No. 2 on the Billboard 200 except Grenades, which went to No. 1.

Incubus will hit the road this summer with Jimmy Eat World and Judah & the Lion from July 7 to Aug. 19; see the dates here.

8 is produced by D. Sardy, who's worked with Red Hot Chili PeppersSystem of a DownNine Inch Nails and, as a solo artist, Incubus frontman Brandon Boyd. Sardy is also an accomplished film composer, with credits on Zombieland and End of Watch.
