We still have to wait until May to finally witness Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. But before it sets sail into theaters, fans can now rest a bit easer as confirmation about a long-discussed plot rumor was just unveiled. Yes, Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann's son will indeed appear in the movie!
Walt Disney Studios released a mini featurette where Brenton Thwaites is introduced as Henry Turner. "This film is exciting. There’s something huge happening everyday so it has an energy and a force behind it that I’ve never really experienced before,” the actor says. Henry is described as “a headstrong young sailor in the Royal Navy” who unwillingly has to join forces with Captain Jack Sparrow in order to find Trident of Poseidon.
Producer Jerry Bruckheimer is also shown discussing the reason of hiring new directors for the film, as well as some explosive shots on the production set. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales brings back the original crew: Johnny Depp as the the captain, Orlando Bloom as Will Turner, Geoffrey Rush as Barbossa, Kevin McNally as Gibbs and Stephen Graham as Scrum.
It will also feature Kaya Scodelario (The Maze Runner) and Golshifteh Farahani (Exodus: Gods and Kings). No word if Keira Knightley will make a cameo as Swann. The film, which follows 2011's On Stranger Tides, will invade theaters on May 26, 2017. In the meantime, click here to see the newest trailer.
