Today marks the 20th anniversary of Buffy the Vampire Slayer hitting airwaves and Buffy herself has paid tribute to the era-defining series. 

To celebrate the show's March 10, 1997 premiere, Sarah Michelle Gellar shared a lengthy Instagram post calling saying she was given "the greatest privilege to bring Buffy to your TV screens." The actress went on to call Buffy a "feminist challenge to gender hierarchy" and thanked its fans for the "unwavering support has kept this show going long past our seven years." The WB/UPN show's b-day is also being celebrated by 20th Century Fox, who is offering a line of commemorative merchandise that includes must-own fan items like an "I Slay" T-shirt.
