Disney's new Lion King just got a release date of July 19, 2019, and now there's more intriguing news: Billy Eichner and Seth Rogen may be our next Timon and Pumbaa, respectively. The Wrap reports that a pair of sources say the funnymen are "both in final negotiations."

Donald Glover is locked in as Simba in the live-action remake from Jon Favreau (Elf, The Jungle Book, Iron Man), and James Earl Jones is returning to voice Mufasa. Beyoncé is reportedly in talks to play Nala.

Rogen's prolific voice work includes Sausage Party, Horton Hears a Who!, Monsters vs. Aliens and the Kung Fu Panda movies. Eichner did The Angry Birds Movie and recurs on Bob's Burgers.

Timon and Pumbaa were voiced in the 1994 animated original by Nathan Lane and Ernie Sabella, respectively. They reprised the roles for a number of follow-up projects, including, for Sabella, Disney Channel's new series The Lion Guard.
