Although Canadian singer-songwriter Alanis Morissette released two albums of teen-pop fluff in the early nineties (1991's 'Alanis' and 1992's 'Now Is the Time,' both out of print now), she's best-known for 1995's immortal alternative album 'Jagged Little Pill.' Not only was it loaded with surprise chart hits, it was an immense influence on future generations of female musicians who didn't feel comfortable with the preponderance of women as pop-singing vixens at the time (which, given her first two releases, is "a little too ironic, don't you think?").
