In the UK, popular girl group The Saturdays have released three albums, earned 11 Top 10 singles, and embarked on three headlining tours, and now they've set their sights on America. You should probably know who they are.
Luckily, they've made it SUPER easy for you with their new E! reality show, Chasing The Saturdays, premiering this Sunday, January 20 at 10p/9c. The show documents their journey to break America like their male counterparts One Direction and The Wanted, but you can get acquainted with Mollie, Una, Vanessa, Frankie, and Rochelle in the interview above and highlights below.
Why America & Why Now?
"We wanted to make sure we really cemented ourselves in England first. We didn't want to leave there and everyone forget about us. So, we decided now is the right time to do it." --Frankie
"I think it's time for girls, a girl group, and I think that hopefully we’re bringing a new wave of girl power!" --Una
"For us, it's really good because [Britain] is doing so well with the likes of Adele. People are obviously liking pop and now I think we need to bring some girl power over." --Mollie
On New Single "What About Us"
"We've kind of had 'What About Us' as our little band baby for awhile. We recorded it awhile ago and shot the video out here. It feels like a new chapter for us because it's our fresh start here. It’s our first single for a little while in the UK so we’re very excited about it." --Rochelle
Are They Jealous Of The Wanted?
"It’s kind of funny because when we were back in the UK, they supported us on tour. We've been really proud of them coming over here and doing really well." --Frankie
