Chris Brown: "Kendrick Lamar Is the Best Lyricist Right Now"

When Fuse's Esteban Serrano sat down with Chris Brown to talk about his upcoming album X, the R&B singer gave us his pick for the best rapper in the game right now.

"Kendrick Lamar is the best lyricist right now to me," Brown says of the Black Hippy MC, who is a confirmed collaborator on Breezy's sixth album. "Poetically and how he approaches his topics. He can make you understand what he means. He can talk his slang, but also be intelligent and articulate."

In addition to Lamar's feature, Brown talks about his latest collabo with girlfriend Rihanna. "She actually has a song I wrote for her, but we put it together for my album. It's called 'Put It Up.'"

Brown also revealed he's submitted tracks to Kelly Rowland and Wiz Khalifa and is waiting to get their contributions back for potential inclusion on X. "Me and Wiz are brothers," Brown says. "It's vice versa. He'll do one for me and I'll do one for him."

As for that rumored Jennifer Lopez duet, Brown confirms they are working together, but not for X. "I'm working with J.Lo in the studio but I'm writing for her album," Brown says. "Writing for J. Lo… for me, that's one of my lifetime goals."
