Listen: Ellie Goulding's Shiny Happy "Goodness Gracious"
UPDATE: The audio has been taken down.
At Lollapalooza, Ellie Goulding told us she named her Halcyon re-release Halcyon Days because, well, she's in a better mood these days. "I felt like when I was writing a Halcyon, I was in more of a darker place, as opposed to the newer songs [on Halcyon Days] which are happier and a bit more upbeat."
We can definitely hear that change in attitude on "Goodness Gracious," a bouncy track from the new EP cowritten by fun.'s Nate Ruess. "The song is about dissing yourself for not thinking straight and not being fair," she told Rolling Stone. So, not exactly warm and fuzzy, but a bit cheerier than that car accident in the "Anything Could Happen" video.
Halcyon Days drops August 26.
