Brooklyn's Lucius Spin An Effortlessly Melodic "Tempest"
If you're a fan of Feist and Fitz & the Tantrums' ability to meld soul and folk music into effortlessly catchy indie pop, you need to get wise to Lucius. This Brooklyn-based band is fronted by vocalists Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig, two women whose full-bodied voices blend together in a way that's impressive and occasionally eerie.
"Tempest" is the latest preview from their upcoming debut album, Wildewoman, out 10/15. It's a sonically expansive track, encompassing alt-folk, synth-pop and a little bit of retro soul-pop. Witness the icy cool of the frontwomen delivering "Tempest" above and check out their fuzzy gem "Hey, Doreen," which we raved about last month.
