Sleigh Bells Return With 'Bitter Rivals' Album & New Video

NYC noise-pop duo also announce full North American tour

NYC noise-pop duo Sleigh Bells are set to release their third album Bitter Rivals on Mom + Pop Records on October 8, and to tease you a bit, the group have released the Dickens-quoting titular single below.

The video, directed by the band themselves and produced in conjunction with the Creators Project, features singer Alexis Krauss clad in a self-promotional boxing robe while guitarist Derek Miller bridges the wide sartorial gap between indie rockers and college football jersey-wearers.

The track opens with an acoustic guitar backed by rhythmic finger snaps and Krauss's cooing before kicking into a Go! Team-worthy mix of hip hop-inspired drum machines and uptempo electric guitars.

Bitter Rivals (the album) will be a 10-song LP produced by Miller and will be accompanied by a full North American tour (dates below). As Spin noted last week, Amazon briefly posted the cover art above alongside a 30-second snippet of the title track before removing it.

No word on if the album is thematically connected to the Sweet Valley High book of the same name, but we're just going to go ahead and assume yes.
