Billy Joel Explains Why New York Crowds Are the Best

This Tuesday, Madison Square Garden will make a major announcement about Billy Joel. Recently, the rock legend sat down to chat about what it means to play the Garden as a native New Yorker.

"I'm lucky to have been born in New York City," Joel says. "And I have the fortune to play great places like the Garden, because New York crowds are enthusiastic, they'll let you know they like you. They're noisier than other places, which is good. And the fact that you're a New York native playing in a New York venue? That's double jeopardy."

Watch Joel's major announcement on December 3 at 11 am ET broadcast live on Fuse and live streamed at MSG.com and BillyJoel.com. In the meantime, watch Joel's hilarious account of his first trip to MSG as a three-year-old boy right here.
