Eminem & Rihanna Tackle Slim Shady's Demons in "The Monster" Video

RiRi is given the world's worst job—psycho-analyzing Marshall Mathers—in this clip
 / December 17, 2013

Eminem's music video for his, well, monster hit "The Monster" with Rihanna is finally here! That's the good news. The bad news is that Rihanna is given the world's least-enviable job in this clip: Studying Marshall Mathers' psychosis. On the plus side, she looks as fashionable as ever in a lab coat.

The video begins with Eminem stewing over a video montage of his career, from his early videos to footage of him with Hailie to his infamous Grammy hug with Elton John at the 2001 Grammys.

A few straitjackets and a trip to 8 Mile later, Eminem confronts the titular Monster of the song, which—surprise—is none other than Slim Shady himself, locked in a cage and watched by heavily-armed guards. Evil Eminem hands Troubled Eminem a crumpled, mysterious note that we aren't permitted to read. Our guess: It's a written reminder he was wrong about techno being dead.
