Lena Dunham Directs Boyfriend Jack Antonoff's Debut Bleachers Music Video
fun. guitarist Jack Antonoff told us his side project Bleachers is a "larger than life and completely inflated version" of himself. So it makes sense that he recruited his beloved girlfriend, Girls creator Lena Dunham, to direct his debut music video.
"I Wanna Get Better" sees the Jersey-bred star playing a shrink to host of screwed-up characters. From an odd couple seeking marriage counseling—with wife played by Parks and Recreation star Retta—to a temperamental divorcee, Antonoff sits through loads of ridiculous questions and hilarious complaints like, "I'm sorry, but I've never heard of Take Your Daughter to Work Day."
When the complaints get to be too much for the 29-year-old therapist, he imagines his patients as his backing band to sing the last chorus of the appropriately titled new single.
While Antonoff's Billy on the Street guest star girlfriend doesn't make an appearance, the guitarist certainly holds his own, proving he has enough charisma despite having stayed in the background of most fun. videos.
Fuse News found out the inspiration for "I Wanna Get Better" when we caught up with Antonoff at SXSW. Find out about that and more via our exclusive interview right here.
