Dyro Talks Hardwell Influence, Being a "Nerd" Producer

What sets Dyro apart from the hundreds of other acts at Ultra Music Festival is his dedication to the technical—not emotional—side of dance music. In an exclusive interview with Fuse, the young Dutch DJ discussed his DIY origins,

"I’m a nerd. I enjoy nerding out on tracks and I enjoy learning new stuff. For me it’s a lot trial and error, common sense in a way. In the beginning it’s just like messing around... you get on forums, start asking questions on forums. I did a lot of Laidback Luke forum. A lot of DJs started there, Afrojack started there, Avicii started there. I just taught myself everything."

Even still, Dyro owes much of his new found success to life coach Hardwell.

"Hardwell is like a mentor for me. He’s a really, really, really good DJ. He really knows how to perform. He took me under his wing, his management took me under his wing, he released my music. He’s a great guy."
