Ian Axel of A Great Big World: "Oprah, I Love You"

The breakout duo talk about their pre-fame jobs in retail and the record business

UPDATE: Watch the full A Great Big World interview above now.

It wasn't that long ago that Ian Axel and Chad Vaccarino of A Great Big World were two regular guys working regular jobs. So, what exactly were they doing before their Christina Aguilera collaboration "Say Something" shot towards the top of the Billboard charts?

Vaccarino was working at a record label, where he admits to holding onto the hope of one day being a star himself.

"I worked at a record label," Vaccarino tells Fuse News. "I thought I would be on the business side. I had no idea, no intention of — well, maybe I had a deep down dream to be an artist."

Axel, meanwhile, worked as a personal shopper at Apple's flagship store in New York City, where he once helped Oprah.

"I haven't crossed her path, and I want to tell her the story," Axel says of possibly reuniting with the TV magnate. "Oprah, I love you."
