Martin Garrix's Holy Sh-t Moment at Coachella

Though he's just 17 years old, Dutch house producer Martin Garrix is coming on strong at the moment, thanks in part to his infectious single "Animals." Fuse's Esteban Serrano sat down with the DJ during Coachella, where he revealed plans for a collaboration underway with Ed Sheeran and teased his debut album.

"I know Ed because my sister is a huge fan of his," Garrix says. "His music is playing all day long in the house when I'm home. He has such a unique, great voice. I sent some ideas to him - some melody, chord lines." Sheeran has sent back some vocals and now he's just ironing out the final details.

Over the past few years, Garrix has released a handful of singles and remixes, but he swears that he's not trying to rush out his debut. "It's always in the works," he says of an LP. "I got so many nuthouse ideas. But I think it's too early."

Earlier in the weekend, Garrix slayed the Coachella crowd - and it was his first time experiencing the Indio, California atmosphere. "I played so much new stuff and the crowd's reactions were really good. We put a lot of effort into the shows, preparing the visuals and the lights. I got the lighting director from Phish to do my lights. Together with the whole team, we put out a great show."

"It was a dream," he adds. "I looked back and saw Paul McCartney standing there and it was like 'holy sh-t!"
